History

The Aarambh happened with the diligent efforts of Joslyn Choudhary and a few seed members in September 2020 who came together during the pandemic to help those in need. In less than two years, the organisation of a few members gradually received the contribution of students from 14 DU colleges, with the power of social media and conducted countless drives under the various projects. Currently, The Aarambh has become a family of 1700+ members and is spread across more than 50 DU colleges with specific units dedicated to animal welfare, women empowerment, education and elderly care. We are at a stage where we commence all our projects simultaneously and conduct fortnightly drives, headed by dedicated members of The Aarambh

A note from founder

In the heart of adversity, amidst the echoes of the pandemic, "The Aarambh" was born.

The Aarambh's journey began in September 2020 with just a handful of us, right in the middle of the tough Covid times. We all knew how people were going through a lot, and that's when I had this thought - we should help those in need, even if it's just one person. So, I started in my hometown, Jodhpur. Social media was a big help, and we found so many people eager to join our cause. It made me realize that there are caring folks out there who are ready to make a real change for our society. The Aarambh gave them a great platform to make a difference. As time passed and with the help of our dedicated volunteers, The Aarambh expanded. 40+Esteemed Colleges 1000+ Members 3 Years and Counting! I'm really proud of the whole The Aarambh Family. They're a bunch of kind, empathetic, and socially responsible people. I'm thankful that The Aarambh provides a stage for these amazing souls. My vision for the future is to turn The Aarambh into a team capable of helping everyone in every way possible. That's how we want to give back to society. Welcome to The Aarambh, where every heartbeat resounds with the rhythm of kindness, and every step is a leap towards a brighter, more compassionate world. "चलो आरंभ करें !" – Let's Begin!

A note from chairperson

I joined The Aarambh Organisation in 2020 as an HR member. All the activities then took place online due to COVID-19. I was in charge of all the tasks concerning recruitment, training and efficient functioning of the members - the human resource. In December 2020 I was promoted to the position of the Vice President and then began my journey of bringing about an impact on the society at large through The Aarambh. Gradually, we progressed and grew to be a team of 400+ members from various colleges across India. We started more initiatives to benefit the underprivileged sections of the society and eventually I found myself working selflessly for The Aarambh. The lives of the people we impacted started holding a significance for me. After 6 months when I stepped up as the President of the organization, I vowed to myself to give my best throughout and establish The Aarambh as the representative of the underprivileged. We broadened our horizons, covered more sections of the society, focussed on more social issues and brought about a difference in the society with our team of 1100+ members. Now, being the Chairperson of The Aarambh Organization, I aim to develop this organisation into a place where everyone feels welcomed. The initiatives of the organisation are such that we try to cater to the needs of most of the individuals in the underprivileged sections of the society. We welcome aboard students who possess a mindset of working selflessly and actually creating an impact on society. Your enthusiasm combined with our experience and resources is capable to make the society a better place for everyone!

A note from Director

From a mere member of the Hansraj Unit to the Director of The Aarambh organisation, my journey over the past 3.5 years has been nothing short of an adventure. It has been a path filled with emotions, challenges, triumphs, and most importantly, profound moments of cheerful memories. And now when I look back in time, the deed which I started emotionally has now become my purpose in life. Through my time at The Aarambh, I have not only found purpose but also discovered a family in the form of friends and beloved volunteers who have stood by my side through every endeavour. Together, we have embarked on a mission to serve our community with love, compassion, and unwavering dedication. What keeps me going? Every smile we have brought to a child's face, every hand we have held in times of need, and every milestone we have achieved as an organisation keeps me energised enough and reminds me every second of the power of collective action and the boundless potential of human kindness. As I pen down this note, I am filled with dear kindness and gratitude for everything I’ve got and everything I could return to our community. We started out of thin air and nothing was certain, but now I can surely say that “It was all worth it”, the friendships forged, the lessons learned, and the impact we have made together. With a humble heart, I invite all brothers and sisters out there to join us on this incredible journey of service and self-discovery. Together, let us continue to spread the love and kindness the society truly deserves. "वसुधैव कुटुम्बकम" -Yash Pal Singh
