“When the world grapples with a staggering catastrophe”

Hunger today isn’t a mere singular phenomenon but intrinsically compounded with social maligns such as inequity, poverty, dearth of hygiene and sanitation, and disasters. An inequitable society creates sharp economic rifts making the rich richer and the poor poorer. The impoverished individual in turn lacks the capacity to feed the family. This coupled with the increasing gender gap and poor infrastructure even aggravates the situation.

Children serve as the most pertinent targets of hunger with an estimated 45 million children under the age of five suffering from wasting, the deadliest form of malnutrition (SOFI Report: UN, 2022). An increased dependence on agriculture and other primary activities endangers the lives of the vulnerable.

Therefore, It becomes the need of the hour to manoeuvre steps to alleviate hunger. One such organisation working towards this cause is THE AARAMBH. Profuse with ‘Sensibility, Sensitivity and Strength’, we align with the Sustainable development goal of zero hunger.

‘Project Annapurna’ under the aegis of The Aarambh is part of the initiative striving to create a hunger-free world. According to our unit, ‘Holy deeds hold more significance than Holy visits’. We embrace the impoverished and lessen the disparities at the cellular level. For instance, in 2022 we as a team of enthusiastic and diligent volunteers organised food donation drives with a reach of approximately 110 needful souls. The effort was a mere scintilla in our endeavouring and battle against hunger. More endeavours would be brought into action through your unwavering faith and support in our organisation
